Job summary

Bowie State University is seeking an Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Budget (APFAB) to join the leadership team in Academic Affairs at Bowie State University, managing faculty lifecycle actions and all budget operations. This role reports to the Provost and VP of Academic Affairs and partners with the Executive Director of University Budget and CHRO.

Qualifications

• Doctorate with demonstrated record in faculty affairs and budgeting.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in academic leadership, including budget management.
• Experience in management of faculty and staff recruitment, contract processing, and tenure/promotion processes.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain excellent faculty at all ranks.
• Oversee lifecycle of faculty appointments, reviews, tenure, and professional development.
• Supervise management of academic employees and staff records and policies.
• Oversee division budget allocations, working with deans and chairs for transparency.
• Collaborate with Faculty Senate and leadership on policy consistency.
• Assist in executive searches and staffing decisions.
• Develop, communicate, and monitor annual budget cycles and capital planning.
• Forecast divisional revenue and align with strategic plans.
