Job description

LFG Homes is a production residential homebuilder based in Chattanooga and part of the LFG family of brands. From first selection to final walkthrough, we pair craftsmanship with a guided digital experience — so building a home feels as considered as living in one.

We are growing quickly, and we are still small enough that everyone can see the whole board. The two owners are hands-on: they are in the field, in the numbers, and in the details. This role sits right next to them.

The Role

You are the operational right hand to both owners — the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks in a company that is adding communities, people, and moving parts every quarter.

This is not a calendar-and-coffee job. You will sit in on the conversations where decisions get made, then own the follow-through: chasing the answer, closing the loop, keeping the vendor honest, and making sure what was decided on Monday is actually done by Friday. You will have daily face time with the owners, and you will be trusted with information most of the company never sees.

The right person is unusually organized, comfortable with ambiguity, and confident enough to push two busy owners for the decisions only they can make.

What You'll Do
Own the Owners' Time
  • Manage two complex, frequently changing calendars — and protect the blocks that matter for land, financing, and sales.
  • Coordinate meetings across owners, lenders, land sellers, brokers, trade partners, municipalities, and the internal team.
  • Book and manage travel, site visits, and community walks end to end, including the day-of logistics.
  • Build a daily rhythm with each owner: a short morning sync, a running priority list, and a clear end-of-day handoff.
Run the Communication Flow
  • Triage inbound email, calls, and messages on the owners’ behalf — answer what you can, route what you can’t, and escape what genuinely needs them.
  • Draft and send correspondence in the owners’ voice: internal announcements, vendor and partner notes, buyer escalations, and investor or lender updates.
  • Take notes in meetings, capture every decision and action item, and circulate a short recap the same day.
  • Serve as a professional, warm first point of contact for anyone reaching the owners.
Keep the Day-to-Day Business Moving
  • Track action items across the leadership team and follow up until each one is closed — this is the core of the job.
  • Prepare materials for owner, lender, investor, and board conversations: agendas, packets, reports, and simple exhibits.
  • Support the operating cadence — weekly leadership meetings, community and construction updates, sales and closing reviews.
  • Coordinate with accounting, construction, sales, and outside counsel to gather what the owners need, when they need it.
  • Handle expense reports, credit card reconciliation, invoice routing, and approval chase-downs.
  • Maintain organized digital files, contracts, insurance certificates, licenses, and renewal calendars.
Take On Projects
  • Own discrete projects the owners hand you — a vendor comparison, a process cleanup, an event, a new office, a systems rollout — and bring them to done.
  • Help document and tighten the processes that are still living in someone’s head, so the company scales without losing the details.
  • Coordinate community launches, model home openings, groundbreakings, and industry events.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding logistics as the team grows.
Look After the Office and the Culture
  • Keep the office running: supplies, equipment, service providers, and the small things that make a workplace feel considered.
  • Plan team meals, celebrations, and milestones — the moments that hold a growing company together.
  • Handle occasional personal and family matters for the owners with total discretion.
What You Bring
  • Relentless follow-through. You track everything, you close every loop, and nothing needs to be asked of you twice.
  • Judgment. You can sit in a conversation about land contracts, construction draws, or a buyer escalation, and know what actually matters.
  • Absolute discretion. You will be in and out of compensation, financials, personnel matters, and partnership discussions. That information stops with you.
  • Strong writing. You write clearly and professionally, and you can adapt your tone to speak for someone else.
  • Comfort with change. Priorities shift daily. You reset without drama and keep the important things from slipping.
  • People sense. Two owners with different styles, plus a leadership team, trades, buyers, and outside partners — you are steady with all of them.
  • Tech fluency. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, calendars, video conferencing, expense tools, e-signature, and shared drives. You pick up new systems quickly.
  • On-site presence. This role requires being in the building, in the room, and available.
Helpful, Not Required
  • Experience with a CRM, project management tool, or construction management platform.
  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting-software familiarity.
  • Notary commission, or willingness to become one.
