We strive to be an involved, value-added investor, capable of providing significant operational and strategic support to our portfolio company CEOs on the most critical issues that they face as the company’s scale.

Our mission is to deliver extraordinary returns by partnering with outstanding executive teams to grow exceptional businesses. Our team is comprised of investment and operating professionals that have experience as executives, strategic advisors, and investors in growing businesses.

Position Summary

The Executive Assistant plays a central role at Serent, enabling senior leaders to leverage their time effectively and contributing to the smooth operation of the firm. In addition to providing high-level administrative support to a senior partner with a fast-paced, dynamic schedule, this role also includes leadership responsibilities overseeing a team of Executive Assistants in San Francisco.

This individual will set the tone for excellence across the EA team—coaching, mentoring, and guiding team members while fostering collaboration and a strong culture.

This role requires someone who thrives in a high-performance environment with minimal instruction, quick pivots, and direct communication. Candidates must be comfortable making confident decisions independently, and supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day execution at the highest level.

Successful candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, emotionally mature, and resourceful, with strong leadership instincts and a solutions-first mindset. They will lead by example—demonstrating poise under pressure, discretion with confidential information, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex calendars for senior executive(s), proactively anticipating conflicts and ensuring effective time allocation.
  • Provide administrative support around travel coordination, meeting preparation, and expense reporting.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Executive Assistants in San Francisco to ensure consistent, high-quality support across the organization.
  • Provide onboarding, coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for the EA team.
  • Oversee workload allocation and ensure consistent support coverage across executives.

Project Management & Operational Support

  • Support and, where appropriate, lead internal initiatives driven by the Partner—such as firm planning processes, operational reviews, and event coordination.
  • Manage key vendor relationships supporting the administrative function and office operations in San Francisco.
  • Support budget planning and tracking for the EA team and select firm initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant supporting senior executives, with 2+ years in a team lead or management capacity.
  • Prior experience in high-performance, fast-paced industry such as financial services, private equity, consulting, legal or professional services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with confidence and foster collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a talent for managing competing priorities and rapidly shifting schedules.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset; approaches both new challenges and routine tasks with enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with a professional presence and the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and other tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
