Job summary

Grand Banks in New York seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead our award‑winning, high‑volume oyster bar on a historic sailboat. You will report to the General Manager and oversee service staff, guest experience, and daily operations to uphold our standard of hospitality.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in AGM roles, proven leadership with large teams, strong health and safety knowledge, and the ability to manage scheduling, training, and budget considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing upscale, high-volume venues.
• Proven leadership of large service teams.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Operational oversight: lead the restaurant and ensure service quality.
• Team leadership: manage staff, training, and in‑shift coaching.
• Guest experience: promptly address concerns and uphold guest satisfaction.
• Scheduling & staffing: calendar, roster management, and labor cost control.
• Inventory & vendor management: monitor stock and vendor relations.
• Continuous improvement: train staff and participate in management meetings.
