Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois seeks a seasoned ABL Underwriting leader to manage a national team, set strategy, and drive risk-aware credit decisions across revolvers, term loans, and seasonal lines. You will coach underwriters and present complex credits to senior forums, ensuring robust collateral analysis.

You will partner with policy, risk, and operations to implement scalable processes and to monitor stress tests and portfolio concentration. Excellent communication and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 10+ years in ABL underwriting.
• 2+ years leading underwriters or in a formal team lead role.
• 15+ years in commercial credit preferred.
• Experience coordinating field exams and collateral appraisals.
• Knowledge of pipeline management, stress testing, and portfolio concentration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a nationally based team of ABL underwriters.
• Set team strategy and capacity plans; assign and review work; coach underwriters.
• Lead underwriting of new money, amendments, and renewals across revolvers, term loans, and seasonal lines.
• Present complex credits to senior credit forums with risk-reward articulation.
• Ensure underwriting addresses borrowing-base mechanics, collateral controls, and covenants.
• Provide leadership on risk trends and mitigation strategies.
• Underwrite complex ABL capital structures and act as escalation point.
• Drive Borrowing Base Certificate reporting and variance analysis.
