Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a senior financial leader to guide accounting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. The role emphasizes internal controls, financial policy development, and executive-level liaison to drive fiscal performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with GAAP, CPA preferred, and the ability to mentor managers while delivering accurate monthly and annual reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 12-15 years' experience OR equivalent mix of education and experience.
• CPA desired.

General Profile

• Provides leadership and direction through senior managers
• Must have at least one senior manager level direct report
• Is accountable for the performance and results of a major part of the organization (organization function or significant operational segment within a business unit, or an enterprise-wide organization sub-function)
• Develops and executes strategy to achieve key business objectives
• Decisions are guided by company and functional strategy and objectives
• Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment

Essential Functions

• Directs and oversees multiple financial functions in the organization.
• Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.
• Liaisons with senior leadership on matters of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• May summarize the financial status of the organization; interprets asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, stock value (if applicable), and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.
• Communicates with Operations, Marketing, HR, IT, and other departments on matters of internal controls and/or budget approval and ROI for specific projects.
• Oversees audits and makes certain that financial reporting is completed properly, and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates).
• Leads and directs the work of other managers and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.

Required Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 12-15 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Business, Accounting or Finance degree preferred
• Additional certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. Corporate finance. Financial management. Fiscal management. Accounting software. Financial analysis software.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
