Job summary

Mead School District's Highland Middle School in Spokane, WA, is seeking an Assistant 7th Grade Volleyball coach for Fall 2026-27. This 1.0 position requires leadership, safety practices, and the ability to organize and supervise practices from 3:00 p.m.

to 6:00 p.m., plus travel as needed. You will promote sportsmanship, communicate with parents, ensure documentation and medical checks, and uphold district policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach and 21 or older for Head Coach.
• Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire it by the start of the season.
• Type II Driver’s License is preferred.
• Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules, and safety practices of volleyball.
• Develops and organizes a practice program; practices run 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Supervise athletes during practices, games, and travel; communicate with parents.
