Job summary

Mead School District in Spokane, Washington, seeks an Anticipated 7th Grade Assistant Volleyball Coach-Leave Replacement for Northwood Middle School for Fall 2026-27. The role supports learning, sportsmanship, and physical well-being while upholding district policies.

Responsibilities include instructing athletes in techniques and safety, developing a practice plan (3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.), supervising players, communicating with parents, and ensuring required documentation and medical clearances

Qualifications

• Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach and 21 or older for Head Coach.
• Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire it by the start of the season.
• Type II Driver’s License is preferred.
• Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes regarding the techniques, rules, and safety practices of the sport.
• Develops and organizes a practice program; practices are 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Supervise athletes from practice start to dismissal and during competitions and events.
• Communicate with parents regarding team rules and guidelines.
