Job summary

LEAD Public Schools in Nashville is seeking an Exceptional Education Assistant (Paraprofessional) to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a certified teacher. You will assist with instructional materials, implement accommodations per IEP, and help communicate with families and staff.

This full-time, non-exempt role includes comprehensive benefits and technology provisions, with opportunities for collaboration across classrooms and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum one of: an associate degree or higher; or 48 college credit hours; or pass the ETS Para-Pro Assessment.
• Strong ability to support students with disabilities under a certified teacher.
• Excellent communication with staff, students and families, and ability to manage classroom behavior.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities under a certified teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials across content areas in collaboration with teachers.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as per IEP.
• Communicate with staff, students, and parents/guardians; attend IEP meetings and conferences.
• Maintain rapport with students and adults; facilitate inclusive student participation.
• Support with appropriate modifications to ensure student success.
• Attend professional development to enhance job-related skills.
• Assist with personal care tasks with proper training.
