Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program is seeking an EC Small Group Instruction Teacher in Matthews, NC. You will provide support and instruction to youth, teach middle-to-high school ELA and foundational math, and apply trauma-informed practices in your daily work.

The role requires a Bachelor's in education or related field, NC teaching license, and Exceptional Children certification. Benefits include PTO, holidays, health/dental/vision coverage, 401K match, and education

What will you do as a EC Small Group Instruction Teacher?
  • EC Small Group Instruction Teacher's primary responsibility is to provide support, education, and guidance to the youth in their care.
  • Learn and utilize the organization’s systems, processes and procedures as instructed
  • Display a high degree of being open to coaching/feedback regarding performance
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through your actions, attitude, and communication
  • Represent the organization internally and externally through your communication and conduct
  • Display trauma informed instructional practices and principles in your interactions with students, with peers and with leadership.
  • Provide high quality education, guidance, mentoring and support to the children in your program
  • Teach middle-high school classes (ELA (Literacy and Writing and some foundational math skills)

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Comfortable with foundational mathematics
  • NC Teacher License Required
  • Exceptional Children Certification Required
  • Experience with youth ranging from K-12th grade
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A valid Driver's license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver's license and clean driving record are required.
