Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus, Inc. is seeking an EC Small Group Instruction Teacher to provide high-quality education, guidance, mentoring, and support to youth in a trauma-informed setting.

You will teach middle to high school ELA and foundational math, using the organization’s systems and processes. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in education or related field, NC Teacher License and Exceptional Children Certification, plus 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Comfortable with foundational mathematics.
NC Teacher License Required.
Exceptional Children Certification Required.
Experience with youth ranging from K-12th grade.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and oral communication.
Valid driver’s license with 3+ years of driving and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Provide support, education, and guidance to youth in care.
Teach middle-high school classes (ELA, Literacy and Writing, and some foundational math).
Learn and utilize organization’s systems, processes and procedures.
Display trauma-informed instructional practices in interactions with students, peers, and leadership.
Represent the organization internally and externally through communication and conduct.

What will you do as a EC Small Group Instruction Teacher?

EC Small Group Instruction Teacher's primary responsibility is to provide support, education, and guidance to the youth in their care.
Learn and utilize the organization’s systems, processes and procedures as instructed
Display a high degree of being open to coaching/feedback regarding performance
Contribute to a positive team culture through your actions, attitude, and communication
Represent the organization internally and externally through your communication and conduct
Display trauma informed instructional practices and principles in your interactions with students, with peers and with leadership.
Provide high quality education, guidance, mentoring and support to the children in your program
Teach middle-high school classes (ELA (Literacy and Writing and some foundational math skills)

What does this position offer?

Starting Pay Range: $55-$60k annually

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Comfortable with foundational mathematics
NC Teacher License Required
Exceptional Children Certification Required
Experience with youth ranging from K-12th grade
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
A valid Driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
