Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking an Excavator Operator to join our dirt and utility crews across multiple sites in Virginia. Responsibilities include operating excavators and other heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining a clean, safe job site.

You will work a full-time, year-round schedule with varying start times (6:00–7:00 AM), with overtime, nights and weekends as needed. Competitive benefits and multiple shifts available at various jobsites.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment on site.
• GPS/UTS experience preferred.
• Work in outdoor environments in all seasons.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers and motor graders.
• Perform maintenance including greasing, checking fluid levels, and cleaning of tracks.
• Daily cleaning of equipment.
• Report deficiencies to foreman immediately.
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customer and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Experience running heavy equipment (an onsite try-out will be conducted)
• GPS/UTS experience, preferred
• Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Location: Various Jobsites

Working Hours: Start varies between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the hourly range is $22.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
