Job summary

LaMontagne Builders, Inc. is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to perform a variety of digging and trenching tasks on construction sites in southern New Hampshire, within 30 minutes of Bedford.

The role offers full-time hourly employment with health, dental, vision, and other benefits after 90 days. Qualified applicants will have high school diploma or equivalent and proven experience operating excavators, reading grade stakes, and following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven expert experience operating excavators in varied environments.
• Ability to read grade stakes or follow verbal directions for grade/excavation depth.
• Willingness to work outside in adverse weather and around live utilities.

Responsibilities

• Support crews in all excavation environments.
• Assist with safe trenching and backfilling operations.
• Coordinate with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines.
• Maintain safe slopes and distances per OSHA standards.
• Perform general labor when equipment is idle, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Excavator Operator

Compensation:

$25.00 to $35.00 per hour.

Job Location:

All construction sites are in southern NH and within 30 minutes of our Bedford office.

Job Type:

This is a full-time hourly position. Employees are eligible for regular benefits after 90 days which include:

Position Summary:

We are hiring an experienced Excavator Operator. This position will vary in tasks and could range from working with the pipe crew installing underground utilities, to installing septic systems, digging and backfilling foundations, bringing site to grade, installing stormwater controls, etc. If you're reliable, safety-focused, and ready to work hard as part of a team, we want to hear from you.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven expert experience operating excavators in a variety of environments
• Ability to read and follow grade stakes or verbal instruction for determining grade, excavation depth or position; GPS experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions
• Able to work safely around live utilities
• Must follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (hard hat, boots, hearing protection, etc.)
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and pre-checks on equipment
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

• Support crews in all excavation environments
• Support the rest of the crew with safe trenching and backfilling operations
• Work closely with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines
• Maintain safe working distances and proper slopes in trenching and excavation as required by OSHA standards

• Perform general laborer duties when equipment is not in use which include:

  • Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50LBS
  • Standing and Walking
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling
  • Climbing ladder and equipment
  • Pushing and pulling
  • Shoveling, raking, sweeping, etc
  • Use of power tools and PPE

All applicants will be asked to demonstrate their skill with an excavator as part of the interview process.
