Job summary

LaMontagne Builders, Inc. in Bedford, NH, is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to support site work across southern New Hampshire.

This full-time hourly role involves diverse duties across utility trenching, foundations, and grading, with emphasis on safety and reliability. The ideal candidate has proven excavator experience, reads grade stakes, and holds a valid driver’s license; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Proven expert experience operating excavators in a variety of environments.
• Ability to read and follow grade stakes or verbal instruction for determining grade, excavation depth or position; GPS experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to work safely around live utilities.
• Must follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and pre-checks on equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support crews in all excavation environments.
• Support the rest of the crew with safe trenching and backfilling operations.
• Work closely with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines.
• Maintain safe working distances and proper slopes in trenching and excavation as required by OSHA standards.
• Perform general laborer duties when equipment is not in use including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, climbing, and using power tools.
