Job summary

LaMontagne Builders is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to work on southern NH sites, within 30 minutes of Bedford. The role is full-time, hourly with benefits after 90 days; compensation ranges from $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include supporting excavation crews, grading, and utility installation while maintaining safety and OSHA standards. Requirements include a high school diploma, extensive excavator experience, GPS reading, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven expert experience operating excavators in varying environments.
• Ability to read and follow grade stakes or verbal instructions; GPS experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to work safely around live utilities.
• Must follow safety protocols and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Support crews in all excavation environments.
• Assist with trenching and backfilling operations.
• Work closely with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines.
• Maintain safe distances and proper slopes as per OSHA standards.
• Perform general labor duties when equipment is idle (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, climbing).

Excavator Operator

Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.

Job Location: All construction sites are in southern NH and within 30 minutes of our Bedford office.

Job Type: This is a full-time hourly position. Employees are eligible for regular benefits after 90 days which include:

Position Summary:

We are hiring an experienced Excavator Operator. This position will vary in tasks and could range from working with the pipe crew installing underground utilities, to installing septic systems, digging and backfilling foundations, bringing site to grade, installing stormwater controls, etc. If you're reliable, safety-focused, and ready to work hard as part of a team, we want to hear from you.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven expert experience operating excavators in a variety of environments


• Ability to read and follow grade stakes or verbal instruction for determining grade, excavation depth or position; GPS experience preferred.


• Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions


• Able to work safely around live utilities


• Must follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (hard hat, boots, hearing protection, etc.)


• Ability to perform basic maintenance and pre-checks on equipment


• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

• Support crews in all excavation environments


• Support the rest of the crew with safe trenching and backfilling operations


• Work closely with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines


• Maintain safe working distances and proper slopes in trenching and excavation as required by OSHA standards
