Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service in Birmingham, AL, seeks an Excavation Technician to perform residential and commercial excavations for plumbing issues. You will operate excavation equipment, expose and repair or replace piping, and work safely in trenches and confined spaces.

The role requires hands-on excavation experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus), and flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on excavation experience in residential and commercial settings.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on vehicle.
• Proficient navigating excavation environments, including confined spaces and trench operations.
• Ability to complete jobs within specified timelines.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Trenchless water/sewer/gas experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to OSHA and company protocols.
• Interact with customers as needed.
• Perform excavation tasks followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installations.
• Operate back-hoe, mini-excavator, skid steers, and other excavation machinery.
• Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
• Locate and arrive at job sites in a timely manner; safely drive between sites.
