Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Chicago is seeking a dedicated housekeeping aide to maintain clean, safe patient areas by scrubbing, stripping, polishing and refinishing floors. You will operate a range of cleaning equipment and ensure proper waste disposal in accordance with hospital procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining orderly work areas, supporting discharge room cleans and OR cleaning as needed, and providing excellent customer service to patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Experience preferred: 1-2 years housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, strip, polish and refinish floors using appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Operates cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, sweepers, etc.).
• Maintain clean and safe work area and waste disposal per hospital procedures.
• Assist with hazardous waste handling and disposal following hospital processes.
• Cross-trained on discharge room cleans and OR cleaning to support hospital needs.
