Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare support services, EVS, hospitality, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, and ancillary areas, to include, but not limited to, bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed and any other areas that may require attention using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
• Accesses and uses all department related technology systems such as, but not limited to, the Bed Management systems.
• Replenishes supplies as needed, removes bio‑medical waste, trash, and soiled linen as required daily and changes cubicle/window curtains as needed.
• Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards, utilizing the approved procedures for patient room cleaning to include Bed Management systems where applicable.
• Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor‑saving products for all items within the healthcare environment assigned for servicing.
• Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standard while promoting a culture of safety.
• Operates UV disinfection machine as needed or according to policy.
• Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including, but not limited to, initiatives to improve Customer Experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Follows all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
• Assists in onboarding new Environmental Services Technician I and II’s as requested.
• Reports unsafe situations and turns in Engineering Service Requests for repair.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure identified problems or concerns are followed through and resolved.
• Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety requirements.
• Demonstrates the ability to operate and properly maintain all EVS tools and equipment needed to clean and disinfect the environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to set‑up/dismantle beds for cleaning according to department cleaning procedures.
• Completes other tasks assigned by EVS leadership.
