Job summary

University Health in Lakewood is seeking an Environmental Services Worker to help keep our hospital clean, safe, and sanitary. You’ll be responsible for cleaning patient rooms and common areas and ensuring spaces are inviting for patients, staff, and visitors.

You'll use floor care equipment, follow infection control standards, and participate in a competency assessment after training. This full-time evening shift offers team support and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• English communication skills (read and speak) and clear staff/patient interactions.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; handle heavier items occasionally.
• Operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete a competency assessment after training within 30–60 days of hire.
• Follow written/verbal instructions and maintain attention to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital areas from patient rooms to common spaces.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed for setups.
• Maintain cleanliness following infection control standards and safety procedures.
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment for spotless floors.
• Read chemical labels and ensure safe use of cleaning chemicals.
