Job summary

Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital is seeking an Environmental Service Technician for the evening shift. You will perform housekeeping across the center, ensuring health standards and patient safety in patient rooms, hallways and common areas.

Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking, and maintaining clean facilities; operating cleaning equipment; assisting with meal service as directed; and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors. Prior health care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medical supplies.
• Minimum 2 years experience in health care facility.
• Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends the English language.
• Intermittent physical mobility including lifting, bending, and walking.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators and other areas to meet health standards.
• Vacuum carpets and upholstery; shampoo where required.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport waste to disposal areas.
• Sweep, scrub, wash or polish floors with appropriate equipment.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Maintain stocked and tidy storage areas and carts.
• Replace light bulbs and replenish supplies as needed.
• Observe safety procedures to protect patient property and report issues.
• Move and arrange furniture; assist in preparing rooms for meetings or events.
• Answer telephones and assist with basic inquiries.
