Job summary

IU Health’s Methodist Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Lead Associate for the 2 PM–10 PM shift. This non-supervisory lead role requires rotating weekends and holidays and a commitment to a clean, safe, healing environment for patients and staff.

You will help assign daily tasks, train new teammates, monitor supplies and equipment, conduct quality checks, and uphold infection prevention standards while modeling professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in Environmental Services, housekeeping, healthcare support or related areas.
• CHEST credentialing required for hires/promotions after Oct 5, 2025; six months to obtain if overdue.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and infection prevention practices.
• Ability to follow policies, coach peers, and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides non-supervisory leadership and frontline support to EVS team members.
• Coordinates daily task assignments, training onboarding, and supplies readiness.
• Models quality, safety, professionalism, and accountability while enforcing policies.
• Coordinates daily work assignments and coverage to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Leads or supports team huddles, shift briefings, and ongoing communication.
• Involves inventory management, supply readiness, and storage organization.
• Acts as peer leader in high-pressure or sensitive care settings with professionalism.
• Conducts quality inspections and audits, resolves concerns, escalates as needed.
• Supports infection prevention initiatives and environmental standards.
