Empire Care Centers is seeking an Environmental Services Director to lead the Housekeeping Unit in a nursing home setting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while maintaining the highest quality resident care.

The role oversees housekeeping staff and a commercial laundry account, manages the unit budget, coordinates with Facilities Management, and drives cleanliness, safety, and a comfortable environment across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Directs housekeeping staff and a commercial laundry account to meet projects on budget, on schedule, and to quality standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
• Inspects areas for sanitation, order, and safety.
• Inspects resident, ancillary, and common areas for sanitation, order, safety, and comfort.
• Ensures staff follow safety regulations when using equipment and supplies.
• Inspects storage rooms and janitorial areas for upkeep and stock control.
• Requisitions supplies and maintains inventory levels for a clean, safe environment.
• Recommends budget amounts for equipment and supplies to the Director of Facilities Management.
• Communicates with other unit supervisors to plan housekeeping services.
• Coordinates housekeeping and laundry with related units.
• Coordinates resident moves and responds to requests promptly per policy.
• Coordinates repair needs with Physical Plant Services.
• Prepares and submits the housekeeping budget for review and approval.
• Performs other duties as directed.
• Supervises department staff and handles performance management and hiring.
