Job summary

York County Government is seeking a part-time Evidence Control Technician (29 hours weekly, non-exempt). You will receive, document, and safeguard items submitted by law enforcement and maintain the chain of custody using database records.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED. Class 3 law enforcement certification is preferred. This role supports public safety and may require court testimony as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with inventory records and databases preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential items and maintain chain of custody.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document items submitted by law enforcement; maintain chain of custody.
• Maintain inventory records using a computer database.
• Store items in correct locations and retrieve on request.
• Supervise storage and release of items designated for storage in the vault.
• Process destruction requests following approvals and contact involved officers.
• Perform periodic inventory and submit inventory reports.
• Assist public locating items; testify in court as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
