Job summary

The City of Caldwell Police Department is seeking an Evidence and Property Management Specialist to securely receipt, document, store, preserve, and release evidence and property in compliance with chain-of-custody standards.

Under supervision, you will manage inventories, process records, and coordinate destruction orders while maintaining federal, state, and local compliance. This role emphasizes accuracy and accountability in a critical public safety function.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
• One year experience working in an office environment.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Receives, logs, inventories, stores, preserves, and tracks evidence and property in accordance with department policies and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Maintains inventory of evidence storage and related records.
• Processes, redacts, and distributes digital media, photographs and records for requests.
• Utilizes the ILETS terminal to run criminal history checks before firearms release.
• Participates in yearly audits and coordinates destruction per court orders.
• Maintains chain-of-custody documentation and assists with special projects.
