Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide direct, patient-centered care within a designated clinical area. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team, applies evidence-based practice, and uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

The role emphasizes leadership, staff orientation, and participation in quality improvement activities within a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Virginia RN license or reciprocal compact state license.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• ACLS Provider required within 60 days of hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team members in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with health team members.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and act as a policy contact for nurses.
