Job summary

Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School is seeking an Events Setup team member to manage daily setup and breakdown of events across campus. You will support events from small meetings to large gatherings, coordinating with caterers, vendors, and staff to ensure accurate, timely execution.

The role requires physical stamina, lifting capability, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with Jewish observances.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Events Setup team is responsible for the daily management of event setup and breakdown throughout the Beth Tfiloh campus. The presence of the Events Setup team is highly visible within the School and Synagogue, and team members are relied upon for accuracy, timeliness, and flexibility in the execution of events ranging from two to hundreds of attendees. In addition to event execution, the Events team provides daily support across the campus for delivery of supplies; parking attendee support, and transportation of event furniture and equipment; office staff needs; and other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Events, Meetings:

  • Use of event management software for visibility of daily setup instructions
  • Lift, move, stack, and unstack tables and chairs
  • Set up tables and chairs based on given setup direction, both inside/outdoors
  • Set up audio/speakers/microphone equipment as needed
  • Maintain support throughout the duration of events.
  • Assist external caterers, rental clients, vendors with setup needs.
  • Set up for holiday events: special seating, outdoor structures
  • Some weekends, evenings and holiday hours may be required to provide support for Jewish Holidays.

Daily Support Duties:

  • Receive deliveries of large items and distribute as required
  • Provide support for other departments as needed (for example: move equipment in for events or classroom needs; assisting food service team with catering setup; moving heavy items as needed; linen deliveries; setup/cleanup for evening events; deliver office supplies as requested.
  • Gain knowledge of specific customs, observances of Jewish traditions for successful event management and to align personal conduct with those traditions/customs while on duty
  • Other duties as needed.

Working Conditions

The majority of essential job duties are performed indoors and outdoors as necessary. Employee will be exposed to temperature fluctuations and fast work pace due to deadlines.

May be requested to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
