Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking an Events Manager within Advancement. You will plan and execute sophisticated events, manage budgets, and align programs with the university’s strategic goals, including signature events with high visibility and distinguished attendees.

You will collaborate across University Development, Advancement Communications, and partner units, lead a team, and navigate a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines in Columbus, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
• Four (4) years of relevant experience in program planning and administration, and experience in planning and implementing small to large-scale events.
• Ability to be stationary for hours, be mobile and lift 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Strategize key constituent experiences, manage event budgets, organize planning processes, facilitate vendor/venue relations, and maintain leadership involvement.
• Partner with colleagues across University Development, Advancement Communications, University Communications, data and analytics partners, University Finance, Alumni Association, and colleges/units.
• Serve as a key strategist and lead for complex virtual events and special projects; recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; ensure resources and processes are in place.
