Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) in Tyler, Texas, is seeking a catering and events assistant to maintain catering operations, assist with planning special events, and help with delivery, setup, serving and cleanup of catering events.

The role requires basic knowledge of catering operations, ability to safely operate equipment such as slicers and ovens, and a customer-focused, flexible team player. You will work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support events.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 to work
• Food Handler certification required
• On-the-job training typical

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of catering/events products to take and fill customer requests
• Assists in helping customers plan for special events, including estimating the amount of food needed and making menu suggestions
• Assists with coordinating talent for performances including bookings of musicians, guest chefs, and entertainers
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working environment per safety procedures
• Provides friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers and taking special order requests
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling
• Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating prepared foods
• Stacks pallets and sorts product according to company standards
