Job summary

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking an Events Assistant to support the planning and execution of public, private, and internal events. This role requires weekend and holiday hours, attention to detail, and strong guest service, reporting to the Assistant Manager.

You will assist with logistics, setup, vendor coordination, bar support, and guest safety, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Experience in events is helpful but not required.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Willing to obtain TIPS certification within first three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and tear down of event spaces (tables, chairs, signage, tents).
• Escort guests and vendors and support logistics during events.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle inquiries during events.
• Operate cash register, collect payments, and make change.
• Support bartending staff with bar setup and inventory as needed.
