Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Heritage Headquarters in Downtown Phoenix is seeking an experienced event sales professional as an independent contractor to fill the calendar across corporate, nonprofit, and celebration markets. You’ll tour venues, qualify leads, and close bookings while owning the end-to-end sales process.
You’ll price against a rate card, manage a pipeline, and collaborate with owners to shape market strategy. Some evening/weekend tours are expected; you’ll set your own schedule.
Heritage Headquarters is a 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse-style event venue in the heart of Downtown Phoenix — more than a venue, a place to belong. Born from community networking events in 2016, we now host corporate events, weddings, brand activations, fundraisers, podcast recordings and community celebrations across six distinct spaces.
Six rooms under one roof means a single contract can cover a full-day program — plenary, breakouts, a leadership session, an outdoor reception, even on-site recording. Almost no venue our size in downtown Phoenix can say that, and it's the strongest thing you'll have to sell.
Heritage Headquarters is writing its next chapter, and this role helps shape it.
You’ll take the venue into the Phoenix corporate, nonprofit and celebration markets, and you’ll be its ambassador to the people who fill a calendar like ours — planners, HR and People Ops leaders, nonprofit development directors, couples and families.
You’ll also have real influence over how we go to market: how the six spaces are priced, how leads are qualified and routed, what a proposal looks like, how a tour is run. Ownership sets the strategic direction and approves pricing; you build the working version and sell against it. There's a backlog of inquiries waiting, so you’ll be closing from week one.
The path from your idea to a decision is short — you'll work directly with the owners.
you are not the event coordinator, the production lead or the day‑of manager. Your job is to fill the calendar.
an existing network among Phoenix corporate planners, nonprofit development staff or the wedding and events community. Bilingual English and Spanish — our community, our brand and much of our market are bilingual.
This is an independent contractor (1099) position: $2,500 per month plus uncapped commission on collected venue revenue — 6% on new business you source and close, 3.5% on inbound leads you convert, 2% on repeat bookings within 12 months. Commission is paid monthly on revenue actually collected.
Target first-year earnings: $55,000 – $70,000, with real upside for someone who brings an existing book of business. You set your own schedule and methods; the role does not include employee benefits.
Heritage Headquarters is an equal opportunity organization. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment — it's at the heart of who we are.
