Job summary

City of Glendale, AZ is seeking a part-time, temporary Special Events Assistant to support festivals and community activities. The role assists with event prep, setup, operations, teardown and provides courteous service to vendors, performers and the public.

You will work under the Special Events staff and may be outdoors, standing for long periods, and may work evenings or holidays. This hands-on position requires teamwork and the ability to move event equipment, assist with signage and help

Qualifications

• Previous experience with special events is preferred.
• Comfort working outdoors and in crowds.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assists with setup, operation and teardown of City events.
• Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and event equipment.
• Assists vendors, performers and the public with directions and questions.
• Helps monitor event areas and reports safety concerns.
• Provides professional customer service and represents the City.
• Assists with basic administrative tasks as needed.
