Job summary

Marathon Staffing Group is hiring for a part-time, temporary event support role in Mesa, AZ. You will help set up and tear down event spaces, move equipment, and assist attendees while working outdoors and during evenings or weekends as schedules require.

The position emphasizes safety, clear communication, and reliable attendance, with benefits available. A high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months in recreation or customer service are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience in recreation, special events or customer service.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
• Valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by the hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and tear-down of events, including tables, chairs, tents and equipment.
• Transport event equipment using City vehicles and trailers.
• Maintain and organize event storage areas.
• Monitor events to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Provide information and directions to attendees and the public.
• Organize and conduct recreation and event activities.
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and reporting issues.
• Follow safety procedures and city policies.
• Maintain attendance, time records and incident reports.
• Communicate with staff, participants, vendors and volunteers.
• Assist with housekeeping and keeping work areas safe.
