Job summary

Overview

Event Staff Supervisors are responsible for a range of guest relations activities, including greeting, checking, and directing guests as they enter the building.

Responsibilities
  • Receive guests, check and direct guests as they enter the building.
  • Screen guests for prohibited items such as camera/video equipment.
  • Secure areas and ensure the safety of all guests.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist with crowd control.
  • React to requests for service and assistance.
  • Maintain a full working understanding of event posts (ticket takers, ushers, concierges, security, door screeners, and guest relations) and communicate effectively with managers and supervisors.
  • Anticipate problems and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure an effective and efficient response to manager/supervisor issues using 2‑way radio communication.
  • Identify risks or hazardous situations and create safe logistics for event continuation.
  • Observe employee and crowd behavior before, during, and after events.
  • Represent the company politely and professionally using proper customer service skills.
  • Direct customer service complaints and inquiries to the proper manager/supervisor.
  • Abide by facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete incident reports when witnessing on‑site injuries.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following life‑safety and emergency programs as needed.
  • Maintain open availability to work events on an ongoing basis, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Maintain a proper image and generate positive public relations with managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Event & Security and the Event & Security Manager.
Qualifications
  • High school degree required; associate’s degree or higher desirable.
  • 1year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Customer service background preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers, managers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to handle and resolve high‑tension situations and control unruly guests.
  • Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work based on event schedules, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • No certifications are required.
