Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking Event Staff to join the Burton Street Event Staff Team in Auburn, AL. This part-time/seasonal, non-driving role supports football games, parades, and other Downtown Burton Street events.

Front-line staff greet customers, distribute tickets, manage traffic flow, and uphold safety across outdoor events in all weather. Prior customer service experience is preferred, with training provided and uniform supplied.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a customer service role.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in outdoor/extreme weather conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet each customer with courtesy and great customer service.
• Understand the surroundings and event details to answer questions
• Accurately distribute tickets (proof of purchase) to each customer.
• Expedite the traffic flow in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to dress code – work outside in any weather and stand for 3–6 hours
• Follow all safety standards.
• Communicate with management, supervisors and traffic directors.
• Answer customer service questions concerning parking and general inquiries and refer questions to the supervisor when applicable.
• Will be expected to take direction from Managers, Supervisors and emergency responders during emergencies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

The Spirit Of The Position

The Event Staff members are the front-line personnel responsible for greeting, engaging, and interacting with all customers attending Downtown Burton Street events.

Principal Job Duties

• Follow all safety standards.

• Answer customer service questions concerning parking and the answer general customer inquiries in a courteous, professional and effective manner and refer questions to the supervisor when applicable.
• Will be expected to take direction from Managers, Supervisors and emergency responders during emergencies.

Experience

• 1+ years in a customer service role
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in outdoor/extreme weather conditions preferred.

Skills

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to work standing-up/on-feet for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands

• Willingness to work in the elements -- heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 15 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
