Indiana State University seeks an Events Setup Technician I to perform cleaning, policing, and setup of events in Hulman Memorial Student Union. This role operates Wednesday through Saturday evenings under limited supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of experience, with physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and familiarity with A/V equipment. Competitive benefits apply and full-time staff status.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• Able to read and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Able to read and follow room diagrams.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs and stands for long periods.
• Experience with A/V and computer equipment.
• Able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, furniture, blinds, ceilings, lights, restrooms, and walls on a daily basis.
• Maintains custodial closet with labeled supplies; empties and cleans equipment.
• Polices public areas twice daily for cleanliness, safety, and restocking.
• Sets up furniture for events including tables, chairs, lecterns, flags, easels, dance floors, backdrops.
• Ensures equipment such as wireless microphones, VCR/DVDs, televisions, projectors, and computers are in proper working condition for events.
• Opens rooms prior to event start times and secures room after completion.
• Serves as building host, tour guide, and security officer.
• Oversees student union operation one Saturday and Sunday a month.
• Reports building system issues to department or vendor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
