Job summary

Orange County Government in Orlando, FL seeks an Event Setup Technician to provide conference and tradeshow support for OCCC clients. You will assist with set-up, tear-down, and cleaning of meeting rooms and exhibit halls, ensuring readiness for events under supervision.

Responsibilities include lifting and positioning chairs and tables, operating equipment like track wall panels and forklifts, and coordinating with show management to meet precise room configurations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in event set-ups and tear-downs at a convention center, hotel, arena, or similar facility.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office is preferred; forklift/pallet jack and related equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of set-up and tear-down tasks in exhibit halls and meeting rooms under tight deadlines.
• Lifts, positions, and moves stacking chairs, folding tables, production stages, and related equipment.
• Interprets and carries out detailed specifications in written and diagram form.
• Makes changes to room setups as requested by show management.
• Replaces linens, provides water service, and performs trash removal as part of Refresh Meeting Rooms functions.
• Verifies show readiness of room sets for completeness, accuracy, cleanliness, and safety.
• Operates movable track wall partitions to configure meeting spaces.
• Installs and dismantles complex performance staging and risers.
• Interacts positively with clients, show management, attendees, seminar speakers, and the general public.
• Operates a variety of equipment, including box truck, forklift, industrial power jack/chair mover, and other equipment.
