Job summary

M Social Sunnyvale, part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a Banquet Houseman to support meetings, weddings, and social events. You will set up banquet rooms, move furniture, and assist banquet servers to ensure flawless guest experiences.

This role requires physical stamina, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospitality environment; you will follow event diagrams and safety guidelines while delivering professional service.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, hotel, restaurant, event, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to safely move and arrange banquet furniture and equipment.
• Food Handler Card required or ability to obtain upon hire, as applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Banquet Setup & Breakdown: Set up banquet rooms according to diagrams; arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, risers; assist with meeting rooms and event spaces; breakdown and reset after functions.
• Event Support: Assist banquet servers and supervisors; deliver/remove tables, chairs, equipment, supplies; replenish water stations and banquet supplies.
• Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain cleanliness of rooms, storage areas, and service areas; remove trash; return equipment to storage.
• Guest Experience: Maintain professional, friendly presence; respond to guest requests; ensure a welcoming event environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work with Banquet, F&B, Culinary, Engineering; communicate needs; support high-volume events.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow safety policies; proper lifting techniques; follow food safety procedures; report hazards.
