Job summary

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, TX seeks an Assistant Event Set-Up Manager to oversee daily operations of the Event Set-Up department and guide the event set-up team. You will collaborate closely with hotel departments to ensure flawless meetings and events for planners and attendees.

Qualifications

• 2 years supervising experience required.
• 2 years experience in hotel, convention/conference center, preferable in conference services.
• Strong computer skills and detail orientated.
• Strong knowledge of Event, Sales, and Catering systems.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, push and pull a moderate amount of weight.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule through the week.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead the Event Set-Up department with the Event Set-Up Manager and other hotel departments.
• Supervise and motivate the event set-up team toward guest service goals.
• Assist the hotel in achieving service scores on Meeting Planner surveys.
• Review Event Orders to ensure clear communication with guests and departments.
• Coordinate setup of all functions and meetings, reviewing staffing and equipment needs.
• Ensure coordination of events with Culinary, Stewarding and Event Services teams.
• Foster development of the event set-up team through hiring and training.
• Handle payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budgeting tasks as needed.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with health regulations and Hyatt standards.
