Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Agriculture seeks an Event Services Operations Staff member to support event operations and facility maintenance at the Farm Show Complex. You will perform building repairs, assist with setup/teardown, handle basic plumbing and equipment maintenance, and coordinate with vendors.

This full-time role requires flexibility with shifts and a non-telework policy. Selected candidate will contribute to keeping the venue safe and functional during busy shows

Formación

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or equivalent.
• Experience in building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

THE POSITION

Are you ready to help bring events of all sizes to life at one of Pennsylvania's busiest venues? Begin an exciting hands-on career as an Event Services Operations Staff member with the Department of Agriculture. In this active role, you support event operations and facility maintenance that keep the Farm Show Complex running smoothly.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

• Building Repairs: Complete general maintenance tasks and repair facility components such as doors, floors, walls, and fixtures
• Event Support: Assist with setting up, adjusting, and tearing down structures and equipment for shows and events
• Plumbing Work: Perform basic plumbing repairs and address issues involving drains, fixtures, and pipes
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, tools, and equipment used throughout the facility
• Metal Fabrication: Cut, weld, and assemble metal parts to build or repair items needed for operations
• Vehicle Servicing: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facility vehicles and related equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
• Work will be scheduled Thursday - Monday and will include a 30-minute lunch. Available shifts:
• 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
• 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• This position is considered an essential employee, meaning you will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades ; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

• Ability to perform duties in an environment around animals and livestock with exposure to dirt, dust, and hay.
• Ability to work different shifts in a 7 day-a-week vendor-controlled environment.
• Ability to perform duties in various types of adverse weather conditions.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
