Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking motivated individuals for Event Services Operations Staff at the Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. This role supports equipment operations, facility care and event prep in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts run 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday, Monday, Thursday–Saturday; telework is not available and the position is essential during emergencies. Prior experience with heavy equipment and a valid PA Class C license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in operating and maintaining large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks (GVW 10,001+ lbs) or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate lifts, loaders, trucks, tractors and other machinery across the complex.
• Assist with setup, placement, and teardown of event materials such as tables, chairs, barriers, and display items.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, restrooms, stalls and surfaces throughout the buildings.
• Clear debris, shovel snow, remove trash, and keep outdoor areas safe and accessible.
• Load, unload and move supplies such as straw, hay, feed, scrap materials and furniture.

This position plays a key role in keeping the Farm Show Complex operating smoothly before, during, and after events. You will handle equipment operations, facility care, and event preparation. As Event Services Operations Staff, you will perform the following duties:

• Equipment Operation: Operate lifts, loaders, trucks, tractors, and other machinery across the complex
• Event Support: Assist with setup, placement, and teardown of event materials, including tables, chairs, barriers, and display items
• Facility Care: Maintain cleanliness of floors, restrooms, stalls, and various surfaces throughout the buildings
• Grounds Maintenance: Clear debris, shovel snow, remove trash, and help keep outdoor areas safe and accessible
• Material Handling: Load, unload, and move supplies such as straw, hay, feed, scrap materials, and furniture

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday, Monday, Thursday - Saturday with 30-minute lunch.
• This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Perform work duties in an environment around animals and livestock with exposure to dirt, dust, and hay.
• Work different shifts in a 7 day-a-week vendor-controlled environment.
• Perform duties in various types of adverse weather conditions.
• Experience using loaders, tractors, and/or forklifts.
