Job summary

Inns of Aurora, LLC is seeking an Event Server to support set-up, service, and break-down for events, ensuring a luxurious guest experience. Under the Events Manager, you will assist guests and maintain a polished appearance while following IOA standards.

Weekend availability is required, with $18.00-$20.00 hourly depending on experience. The role demands excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up event space as outlined in the Banquet Event Order.
• Set tables prior to guest arrival with appropriate utensils, table cloths, condiments etc.
• Restock all stations.
• Understand and articulate the food and beverage menu for every event.
• Check identification for guests to verify age requirements for alcoholic drinks.
• Interact with guests in a poised and professional manner.
• Ensure guest needs are met while navigating the event area.
• Monitor guest satisfaction through regular check-ins.
• Serve water, coffee and tea; prepare cocktails or deliver to bartender.
• Run food from kitchen with trays or by hand.
• Complete side work and daily cleaning tasks on time.
• Adhere to end-of-shift cleaning duties.
• Retrieve plates and glasses and transport to the kitchen during service.
• Report issues to management; maintain service area cleanliness.
• Attend required training and meetings; maintain professional demeanor.
• Follow IOA handbook dress policy and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Task:

• Set up event space as outlined in the Banquet Event Order
• Set tables prior to guest arrival with appropriate utensils, table cloths, condiments etc
• Restock all stations
• Understand and be able to articulate the specific food and beverage menu for every event
• Check identification for guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholic drinks
• Interact with guests in a poised and professional manner.
• Ensure the needs of all guests are met while navigating throughout the event area.
• Consistently monitor guest satisfaction through regular check-ins.
• Serve water, coffee and tea to guests
• Prepare cocktails according to customer orders and deliver them to guests, or deliver order to bartender
• Run food from kitchen with trays or by hand, as needed
• Ensure the timely completion of all side work and daily cleaning tasks.
• Adhere to cleaning duties required at end of shift
• Retrieve plates and glasses from tables and transport them to the kitchen during meal services.
• Report all issues in the dining area to management team
• Maintain the cleanliness of the service area
• Attend all required training and meetings.
• Maintain a positive and helpful attitude with all guests. and Inns of Aurora employees
• Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to proper dress policy, as defined in the IOA handbook
• Follow guidelines and expectations as stated in the employee handbook
• Other duties, as assigned

PREFERENCES

• High school or college level degree
• Previous customer service, banquet/events/catering serving or fine-dining serving experience
• Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety procedures
• Local wine, food and fine-dining knowledge
