Job summary

Sabres & ROCH - Buffalo Sabres is seeking Event Security Guards to ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests, contractors and employees during events at the arena. The role involves patrolling, screening, monitoring access, and communicating professionally to enforce policy.

Candidates must have a high school diploma and strong customer service, be able to obtain NY State Security Guard Registration, and be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Must be able to obtain New York State Security Guard Registration and be of good character
• Previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred

This role monitors and controls the movements of patrons, visitors and contractors using various methods.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas within the arena to ensure guest safety and compliance with building policy.


• Greet, monitor and control the movements of patrons, visitors, employees and contractors.


• Conduct varying levels of screening of guests, employees and visitors as directed.


• Monitor all electronic security systems (fire board, alarm panel, cameras, access system, etc.).


• Remain calm and professional in all situations.


• Report pertinent information to supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.


• Must have strong customer service skills/experience


• Must be able to obtain New York State Security Guard Registration and be of good character;


• Previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred;

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.;


• Must be willing and able to respond to emergent situations;


• Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision at times.


• Must be able to stand, sit, walk for extended and varying periods of time

Compensation

This role pays $17.50 an hour. This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
