Tavern on the Green is seeking an experienced, polished Event Sales Manager to join our Events Team in New York City. This fast-paced role blends sales with flawless event execution, requiring relationship-building excellence and a calm, guest-focused approach.

You will drive new business, manage the full sales cycle, and collaborate with culinary, operations, and management teams to deliver memorable events for corporate and social clients. Weekend and peak-season availability is required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of management experience in hospitality, catering, luxury events, hotels, restaurants, or event venues.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations.
  • Proven experience in event sales and client relationship management.
  • Existing relationships with corporate organizations, event planners, production companies, or a strong NYC events network.
  • Proven prospecting experience with the ability to generate new business.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional, polished presentation and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High emotional intelligence with client service instincts.
  • Self-motivation and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from inquiry through contract execution and event completion.
  • Conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close business.
  • Develop relationships with corporate, social, meeting planners, production companies, and event professionals.
  • Execute events onsite with exceptional service and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, event, and management teams for seamless events.
  • Attend client meetings, tastings, walkthroughs, and planning sessions.
  • Assist with operational tasks as needed and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Identify creative solutions to challenges while maintaining guest service standards.
