Job summary

Jefferson Center is seeking a part-time custodian to maintain a clean and orderly environment across multiple spaces. Duties include cleaning offices, setting up rooms for rentals, and assisting during events with trash and restroom stocking.

The role requires ability to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and pass a background check. Schedule is nights and weekends with 20–35 hours weekly depending on events.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a background check.
• Primarily nights and weekends with schedule based on event calendar.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
• Cleans and maintains assigned areas.
• Cleans tenant offices twice weekly after 5pm.
• Transports trash to designated areas and follows disposal procedures.
• Reports maintenance concerns via work orders.
• Removes dust and debris from high and low surfaces.
• Completes daily paperwork required.
• Assists with minor facility maintenance.
• Sets up rooms for rental activities.
• Maintains cleanliness during events: bathrooms stocked, trash emptied, hallways clear.
• Follows safety procedures when using cleaning materials and equipment.
• Performs vacuuming, mopping, windows cleaning, dusting, bulb changes and setting up furniture.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
