Hyatt Regency Columbus, located Downtown, is seeking an Event Planning Manager to lead the planning and execution of conventions and group events. You will coordinate with hotel operations, manage room setups, and ensure exceptional service from pre-event through post-event.

The role demands strong organization, financial aptitude, and frontline communication skills to deliver memorable experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of hotel event planning experience or equivalent preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Comfortable with budgeting, billing, and financial tasks.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent customer service mindset and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute successful events for conventions and groups.
• Serve as liaison between Meeting Planners and hotel staff.
• Prepare rooms and event diagrams; coordinate with departments.
• Manage group billing details and ensure accuracy in final invoices.
• Act as on-site contact to ensure smooth event execution from start to finish.

What does the ROLE entail?

• Primary focus is on planning and executing successful events
• Market will be conventions in house and rooms only groups
• Acts as a liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff
• Prepares all rooms and event documentation, coordinates with property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event and post-event phases.
• Detail all Food and Beverage, meeting room sets and diagrams
• Responsible for group billing details and final review
• The Event Planning Managers are also the on-site contacts and are responsible for the smooth execution of all events

Qualifications

• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• Unafraid of financial related tasks, projects and responsibilities
• Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized

• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
