Disability Allies, based in Toms River, New Jersey, is seeking a part-time Event Planner dedicated to providing social opportunities for young adults and children with and without disabilities. This role involves organizing events, managing registrations, and maintaining participant records. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office, possess strong communication skills, and be good at time management and organization.
The position requires attendance at monthly committee meetings, fostering social interactions, and supporting our mission to serve young adults with disabilities.
The Disability Allies is a nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting young adults with and without disabilities. In order to accomplish this goal, we help our participants improve their social skills and partner with community organizations to plan social events. Our events are open to anyone with a disability, who knows someone with a disability, or who supports people with disabilities.
Position Summary:
The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities for young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Event Planner is a part‑time position. You must be willing to join us at our monthly committee meetings at the Milltown Public Library at 10 am on the second Saturday of the month. The Event Planner reports to the Director and is responsible for the planning and organization of our events and managing our event registration.

The purpose of the Disability Allies is to plan team‑building activities that connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. At our events we pair each individual with a mentor who helps participants with their social skills and ensures that everyone interacts with each other. Our events are open to any young adult who has a disability, knows someone with a disability, or supports people with disabilities.
