Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking an Events Operations Lead to hire, train, supervise, and develop a student staff team responsible for delivering successful campus events.

You will share manager-on-duty responsibilities, coordinate event logistics, and oversee inventory and safety measures across facilities to support a wide range of programs with campus and external partners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of event planning principles and resources.
• Knowledge of facilities operations, maintenance, safety protocols and security practices.
• Skill in customer service.
• Skill in multi-tasking and logistics coordination across multiple projects with deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and teams.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates events and meetings across university facilities.
• Ensures facilities and conference rooms are prepared according to event specifications.
• Communicates with event organizers to understand and facilitate special event accommodations.
• Arranges routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure smooth event operations.
• Helps maintain safety measures and protocols across facilities, including fire drills and equipment checks.
• Serves as a liaison between facilities management and vendors/contractors.
• Other duties as assigned.
