Job summary

Sports Promotions Group is seeking a results-driven SPG Event Marketing Supervisor to lead our event retail campaigns nationwide. The role requires travel with a team to build and operate stores and deliver engaging brand experiences for top youth athletes.

You will supervise staff during activation prep, on-site execution, and post-event analysis, manage budgets, logistics, and partner communications while ensuring premium customer experiences and strong partner relationships with Soccer.com

Job description

SPG Event Marketing Supervisor

Sports Promotions Group is looking for driven, innovative, and creative individuals to join our event retail team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating unique retail and marketing experiences for top level youth athletes, possess the ability to lead a team of likeminded individuals to build and operate these stores, and a desire to work with the largest brands in the sporting goods industry to increase brand loyalty. These events occur across the United States so the ideal candidate should be both comfortable and enjoy traveling with a team of other employees and seasonal workers.

Responsibilities:
Operations, Logistics, and Communication (55%)
  • Plan, develop and execute the SPG Event Marketing program.
  • Supervise both SPG staff within the activation preparation process, as well as onsite with the set-up, execution and strike of event marketing operations.
  • Execute event marketing at the highest level as lead or support.
  • Review and enhance event activation communication document with details specific to the partner, location, and staff.
  • Establish pre-event call or digital / in-person meeting with projected staff, communicating all details of event and creating plan for travel and logistics.
  • Confirm activation inventory has arrived in-full at event. If this step has been executed prior to shipment this step can be simplified to confirming all freight has arrived.
  • Lead the building and branding of the activation in the days prior to the event to create a unique experience. Work with SPG Event Operations team prior to arrival to understand details or nuisances related to location, permitting rules, panel sizing, shipping, and logistics.
  • Lead or support lead for event retail to ensure premium customer experience. Create daily schedules, maximize staffing efficiencies, monitor weather and other event driven variables.
  • Keep and provide detailed feedback on the activations after they conclude to create presentations for event managers, internal teams, and finance. This includes impressions, observations and trends, condition of equipment and other event assets, and any partner interactions.
  • Ensure activation assets and resources are accounted for post-event. This includes all items in-transit back to the SPG warehouse are returned as scheduled and properly stored.
  • Provide feedback on all event staff and help support efforts to retain high performing individuals. Likewise, provide feedback on any team members that should not continue working with the SPG retail team.
Activation Reporting and Financial Tracking (25%)
  • Coordinate event activation budget based on expected opportunity, fixed and variable costs.
  • Allocate budget accordingly and track expenses against projections, highlighting areas of concern and maintaining desired activation margin.
  • Track all expenses in real time, capture event receipts, coordinate partner and vendor payment details and back-end paperwork.
  • Provide activation financial recap and confirm that all invoices have been accrued and activation has been billed to partner.
Event Retail Marketing Support (15%)
  • Work across SPG event retail program to establish procedures, processes and reviews on SOCCER.COM branded assets and other customer facing marketing impressions.
  • Support Soccer.com Club Retail program as we develop system to quantify SOCCER.COM marketing impact.
  • Implement any desired consumer conversion programs and other campaigns to convert event retail customers to Soccer.com buyers.
  • Support Club Retail with event review and financial reporting.
