Responsibilities

  • Lead events in operations, logistics and communication

Event Retail Supervisor

Sports Promotions Group is looking for driven, innovative, and creative individuals to join our event retail team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating unique retail and marketing experiences for top level youth athletes, possess the ability to lead a team of likeminded individuals to build and operate these stores, and a desire to work with the largest brands in the sporting goods industry to increase brand loyalty. These events occur across the United States so the ideal candidate should be both comfortable and enjoy traveling with a team of other employees and seasonal workers.

Responsibilities:
  • Event Lead – Operations, Logistics and Communication
  • Plan, develop and execute the SPG Retail program.
  • Inventory Forecasting and Event Merchandising
  • Partner Communication
  • Coordinate event retail product assortment based on historical data and comparable events.
  • Supervise both SPG staff within the product preparation process, as well as onsite with the set-up, execution and strike of event retail operations.
  • Receive and organize apparel for each event based on event size and standards.
  • Coordinate customization plan based on historic data and event objectives.
  • Re-allocate inventory as it returns to future events, understanding where to fill-in with new inventory.
  • Review facility permitting rules and regulations and communicate calendar with the facility manager and event manager.
  • Keep and provide detailed feedback on the events after they conclude to create presentations for event managers, internal teams, and finance.
  • Work with brand partners to enhance retail program finding ways to add additional value or reduce inventory risk.
  • Serve as partner relations manager for key event partners.
  • Execute event retail at the highest level as event lead or event support.
  • Review and enhance event retail communication document with details specific to the partner, location, and staff.
  • Confirm inventory has been received in full and prepared for shipment to event location. Communicate any missing inventory or late-arriving inventory that will establish need for product adjustments.
  • Establish pre-event call or digital / in-person meeting with projected staff, communicating all details of event and creating plan for travel and logistics.
  • Review facility permitting rules and regulations to communicate with the facility manager.
  • Confirm inventory has arrived in-full at event. If this step has been executed prior to shipment this step can be simplified to confirming all freight has arrived. If not, full inventory must be executed onsite.
  • Lead the building and branding of the retail store in the days prior to the event to create a unique retail structure. Work with SPG Event Operations team prior to arrival to understand details or nuisances related to location, permitting rules, panel sizing, shipping, and logistics.
  • Lead or support lead for event retail to ensure premium customer experience. Create daily schedules, maximize staffing efficiencies, monitor weather and other event driven variables.
  • Keep and provide detailed feedback on the events after they conclude to create presentations for event managers, internal teams, and finance. This includes sales observations and trends, condition of equipment and other event assets, and any partner interactions.
  • Ensure product and event operations resources are accounted for post-event. This includes all items in-transit back to the SPG warehouse are returned as scheduled and product is reallocated, while event assets are properly stored.
  • Provide feedback on all event staff and help support efforts to retain high performing individuals. Likewise, provide feedback on any team members that should not continue working with the SPG retail team.
