Job description

The Event Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative activities across multiple buildings within the district. They lead Supervisors to ensure compliance with contract requirements, develop and implement cost control measures, and establish service standards to meet customer specifications. The role involves overseeing inspections, quality control, and inventory management of equipment and supplies for assigned buildings.

Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday, nights and weekends depending on the event schedule.

Project Management & Client Relations:

  1. Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop work plans that ensure timely, cost-effective service delivery and contract compliance.
  2. Inform customers about additional services available at ABM.
  3. Respond to customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and gather feedback.
  4. Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure service quality and foster retention.
  5. Update the Project Manager on work status, potential issues, and escalate serious concerns.
  6. Increase billable services and add value through additional or periodic services (TAG work).
  7. Provide excellent customer service to retain clients and promote service sales.
  8. Report accidents and property damage promptly and accurately.

Employee Relations and Supervision:

  1. Work closely with frontline staff to meet customer needs, identify training requirements, and coordinate development efforts.
  2. Recommend staffing levels and collaborate with HR on hiring, training, and evaluations.
  3. Understand union contracts and develop effective relationships with labor unions.
  4. Enforce company and client policies through mentoring and coaching.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience.
  • 1-2 years customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of janitorial equipment and OSHA processes.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license for business travel.
  • Passion for service and helping others succeed.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office, smartphones, internet, and related applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience with union environments.
  • Understanding of industry practices and trends.
